Achievements

• Dr. V. Ramasamy Raja has been awarded two institutional seed money projects
  • i) Fabrication of visible light photocatalytic degradation for organic pollutants and using heterogeneous nanocomposites, Rs. 20,000/- during the academic year 2019-2020.
  • ii) Synthesis, characterization and optical properties of semiconductor nanocomposites for the enhanced photocatalytic and antibacterial activity, Rs. 20,000/- during the academic year 2021-2022.

• The department has organised two international conferences in 2021-2022 & in 2022-2023. In both the conferences, eminent professors and scientists in international and national universities and laboratories participated.
• Dr. A. J. Sunija has received Institutional Sponsored Inter Departmental Faculty Research Project on the topic ‘Polymeric biomaterial encapsulated probiotics for biomedical applications’ for Rs.20,000/- during the Academic Year 2022-23.
• Dr. V. Ramasamy Raja has received Institutional sponsoredInter Departmental Student Research Project on the topic ‘Development of Novel Photocatalytic Nanocomposites and theirEnvironmental application’ for Rs.12,500/- during the academicyear 2022-2023.
• The department students won third prize in the State level intercollegiate meet organised by the Department of Chemistry, Mangayarkarasi College for Women, Madurai.
